When KREHATED formed in 2011 (back then by the name KALIBER), the main idea was to create heavy music with a nice groove to it. And also, a main idea was to not follow the trends of modern metal music at the time. What started as a fun, irresponsible project between vocalist Johan Vrenning and guitarist Jonas Vilander, quickly escalated in more serious endeavours since they both thought the music that they were creating were to powerful to just pass under the radar.
Shortly after, drummer Andreas Thunell and bassist Tobias Vrenning joined the band as full time members.
An self titled EP was released under the name of KALIBER in 2013 and some shows in their hometown of Stockholm, Sweden followed as well as a trip to Poland for their first show abroad.
KREHATED's debut, 'The Venomous Mind' makes sure to deliver aggressive, heavy and groove oriented metal that would make anyone a hard time not to move their bodies to. Twelve fast paced songs with heavy riffing and rhytmic drum beats that sees vocalist Johan touch various sensitive subjects of the current world in his lyrics.
"The Venomous Mind" was recorded in the bands own studio "JV Studios" in Stockholm, Sweden and produced by the band themselves. The album was mixed and mastered by Christian Svedin (The Unguided, Vildhjarta, Imminence). The album artwork was created by local talented artist Tomas Lacke and various designs such as additional artwork and logos was made by portugese artist Gustavo Sazes and Henrik Englund (Scarpoint, Amaranthe). The album also includes a guest appearance by vocalist Richard Sjunnesson (The Unguided, former Sonic Syndicate) on the track "The Parasite".
- We all have demons inside our heads. It doesn't matter how successful you are, how wealthy you are or how sane you seem to be. All people have been through rough times at some point in their lives and then carry the aftermath of demons or venom in their minds.
"The Venomous Mind" is all about that. Our inner demons. Our inner fear. Our infected minds. The world of today is a disgusting place at times. This world brought us this hate. This world was what created us. All this hate is a product of this world. We are the KREHATED.
